Midtown Bloggerinos! It’s Raph, here to talk to you about the deadliest invention mankind has ever made: Avengers Alliance on Facebook!

Now you may be saying, “Raph, Facebook games are boring and don’t really have any replay value!” To which I say, don’t be so quick to judge!
The gameplay pretty much resembles an old-school turn-based RPG (Role Playing Game). You and a team of Marvel’s Mightiest Heroes face various menaces after the Earth is bombarded with a substance called ISO-8. ISO-8 basically is the reason why you (a lowly SHIELD agent) can hang with the likes of Thor and Phoenix. The fight mechanics are pretty simple too: every character has specific attacks (unlocked as they level up), while you yourself can customize with weapons or special devices. Each character also falls under 5 classes (Infiltrator, Blaster, Bruiser, Scrapper and Tactician), which have different strengths and vulnerabilities to each other. Your enemies are going to be classified similarly, and the game becomes a chess game: I’m facing two Bruisers, is it worth it to expose a Scrapper just so I can take down the third guy? The gameplay mechanics are classic, and evoke a lot of fun memories, but if that doesn’t do it for you, there’s this: A HUGE ROSTER OF MARVEL SUPERHEROES!

Every Marvel fan has probably dreamed of being in the Marvel Universe as a hero, or at least riding shotgun. This game is a great opportunity to do that. While playing the game, you earn Command Points which you can use to recruit your favorite characters. While it does take some time to acquire Command Points, the game allows you to buy Gold that is used to buy Command Points. It’s not necessary, but for those of you that are impatient, Spider-Man is one micro-transaction away!
That’s all for now, if you have a Facebook account, check out Avengers Alliance! Also, check out Midtown’s selection of Marvel stuff! Until Next Time—
