Midtown Comics is proud to host a Cosplay kickoff event for Special Edition: NYC tickets this Wednesday, May 28th at our Midtown Comics Times Square Location! Read on for more details below:

  • Our Special Edition: NYC Event will take place Wednesday, May 28th.
  • 11:30 to 2:00PM outside the Midtown Comics Times Square store
  • There will be a raffle for a pair of NYCC 4 Day tickets and a pair of VIP Special Edition tickets. Every person that is present will be entered.
  • Cosplay Contest for 2 VIP tickets to Special Edition: NYC
  • Giveaways – comics, NYCC merch, SENYC Posters!
  • Raindate: Thursday, May 29th.

Special Edition: NYC is presented by ReedPop, the folks behind New York Comic Con! Special Edition is a pure celebration of comic book culture created specifically for die-hard comic book fans, creators and publishers! It’s a smaller, comics-only convention that will take place at the Javits Center in NYC on Saturday June 15, and Sunday June 16. Tickets are available at Midtown Comics right now, in-store only at our three NYC locations.  Tickets are available for single days only, Saturday and Sunday, $30.00 each, $5.00 for kids 6-12.

Transformers Day at Midtown Comics Downtown!

Transformers: Age of Extinction comes out on June 27th, so we’re throwing a Transformers Party from 12pm-2pm outside of Midtown Comics Downtown!

Anyone who visits during that time will have the opportunity to enter to win a TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION prize pack including an official t-shirt, mini poster, passes to the advance screening, and official hat.

Transformers brand ambassadors will also be on site to provide free EARLY SCREENING passes to anyone who brings Transformers comic bookstoysshirts, or other memorabilia! Meet artist Paul Azaceta at Midtown Comics Downtown on Thursday, June 26th for a signing of Outcast #1, the highly anticipated new series from Robert Kirkman!

In this new horror series from Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, Kyle Barnes has been plagued by demonic possession all his life and now he needs answers. Unfortunately, what he uncovers along the way could bring about the end of life on Earth as we know it.

The series will debut at 40 pages for just $2.99–a strategy previously employed by Saga. “I’m trying to make the book as creepy and cool and dark as possible, and really do some horror stuff with it,” Azaceta said.

We may have another series just as great as Walking Dead on our hands with Outcast #1! Hope you can all make it out for our signing with Paul Azaceta!

PIER/PARTY – Avengers Screening Fan Party

In celebration of 4th of July and the fireworks coming back to the East River, the South Street Seaport and Midtown Comics will be hosting a special screening of The Avengers on Saturday, July 5th!

Cosplayers and Superhero fans assemble at the South Street Seaport before the open air viewing of The Avengers.

Fans IN COSTUME will enjoy drink specials from the Ambrose Beer Garden and can enter to win prizes from Midtown Comics and the South Street Seaport.

Midtown Comics will also be on-site handing out free promotional goodies, as well as FCBD comics! Those in costume can enter to win gift cards, rare variants, and more! Hope to see you there!

Raffle will be held around 7:30PM. Movie starts at 8:00PM!
