Transformers Day at Midtown Comics Downtown!

Transformers: Age of Extinction comes out on June 27th, so we’re throwing a Transformers Party from 12pm-2pm outside of Midtown Comics Downtown!

Anyone who visits during that time will have the opportunity to enter to win a TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION prize pack including an official t-shirt, mini poster, passes to the advance screening, and official hat.

Transformers brand ambassadors will also be on site to provide free EARLY SCREENING passes to anyone who brings Transformers comic bookstoysshirts, or other memorabilia! Show us your cool Transformers stuff and we’ll give you a ticket to see an advance screening of the film on Wednesday, June 25th at 7:00 PM at the AMC Loews West 34th Street!

Open Buying Day at Midtown Comics

We’re buying back issues and collectibles in a big way, and we’re especially looking for Silver and Golden Age comics, along with key issues of ANY age. We also need LOTS of vintage toys and collectibles, so don’t be shy, bring everything, and be prepared to meet Midtown’s back issue man Alex Rae. Who knows? You may walk away with an Uncle Scrooge-size haul of money!! Buying day takes place at Midtown Comics Downtown, at 64 Fulton Street (corner of Ryder Alley, just a few blocks east of Broadway), from 11:00AM to 4:00PM. We’ll see you there!

Meet artist Paul Azaceta at Midtown Comics Downtown on Thursday, June 26th for a signing of Outcast #1, the highly anticipated new series from Robert Kirkman!

In this new horror series from Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, Kyle Barnes has been plagued by demonic possession all his life and now he needs answers. Unfortunately, what he uncovers along the way could bring about the end of life on Earth as we know it.

The series will debut at 40 pages for just $2.99–a strategy previously employed by Saga. “I’m trying to make the book as creepy and cool and dark as possible, and really do some horror stuff with it,” Azaceta said.

We may have another series just as great as Walking Dead on our hands with Outcast #1! Hope you can all make it out for our signing with Paul Azaceta!

PIER/PARTY – Avengers Screening Fan Party

In celebration of 4th of July and the fireworks coming back to the East River, the South Street Seaport and Midtown Comics will be hosting a special screening of The Avengers on Saturday, July 5th!

Cosplayers and Superhero fans assemble at the South Street Seaport before the open air viewing of The Avengers.

Fans IN COSTUME will enjoy drink specials from the Ambrose Beer Garden and can enter to win prizes from Midtown Comics and the South Street Seaport.

Midtown Comics will also be on-site handing out free promotional goodies, as well as FCBD comics! Those in costume can enter to win gift cards, rare variants, and more! Hope to see you there!

Raffle will be held around 7:30PM. Movie starts at 8:00PM!

We know not everyone can make it to San Diego Comic Con this year, so we’re throwing a special party for all those who will still be in New York!

Our annual Not at Comic Con event returns this year on Saturday, July 26th at Midtown Comics Downtown, and we already have some fun details to announce!

Date: Saturday, July 26th.

• Not at Comic Con Sale– 30% off everything at Midtown Comics Downtown only from 11:00AM to 12noon.
• 20% off everything at Midtown Comics Downtown from 12noon to 9:00PM.
• Anyone who arrives in costume or comic book apparel before 1pm will receive a raffle ticket for some fun giveaways! Winners will be announced in-store at 1pm.
