New York, NY, June 13, 2011- Midtown Comics in New York City will present Greg Pak, Fred Van Lente & Mark Paniccia signing their new book Alpha Flight #1 from Marvel Comics at Midtown Comics Downtown on Saturday June 18th from 2 to 3 P.M.

Greg Pak is the writer behind such hit Marvel Comics as World War Hulk, Incredible Hercules, and Magneto: Testament. Pak also wrote the Battlestar Galactica comic series for Dynamite Entertainment.

Fred Van Lente was the co-writer of Incredible Hercules with Greg Pak and has written X-Men Noir, Marvel Zombies Return, and Heroic Age: Prince of Power for Marvel Comics. He also co-wrote the graphic novel Cowboys & Aliens.

Mark Paniccia is a senior editor at Marvel Comics. His work can be found in the Ultimate Comics line and on Hulk books. Paniccia is also the editor of the new Alpha Flight #1.

New York, NY, June 1, 2011- Midtown Comics in New York City will present Brandon Montclare, Michael Kaluta and Ryan Bodenheim signing their new book Fear Itself: Fearsome Four #1 from Marvel Comics at Midtown Comics Downtown on Wednesday June 8th from 6 to 7 P.M.

Brandon Montclare is a former editor at DC Comics working on high profile projects like All-Star Superman and All-Star Batman. Montclare has also written the Chaos War: Chaos King one-shot and a back up story in The Incredible Hulks for Marvel Comics.

Michael Kaluta is an artist who has been working in comics since 1969. His work includes several covers for DC Comics’ Detective Comics, House of Mystery and The Spectre. Kaluta recently worked with Brandon Montclare doing interiors for the Vertigo series Madame Xanadu.

Ryan Bodenheim is an artist whose work has included a number of Marvel comic books. He is known for his interior work on Jonathan Hickman’s Red Mass For Mars and the Image Comics series Halcyon written by Tara Butters and Marc Guggenheim.

New York, NY, May 23, 2011- Midtown Comics in New York City will present legendary Batman artists Jerry Robinson signing at Midtown Comics Downtown on Wednesday May 25th from 5:00 to 6:30 PM.

Jerry Robinson: As a teenager in early 1939, the art of Jerry Robinson caught the eye of Batman co-creator Bob Kane, who quickly hired him to work in his studio to help create the prodigious amount of Batman strips that were needed to satisfy phenomenal demand.  In 1941, Jerry struck gold twice, and created both Robin and the Joker, and the rest is pop culture history.  Mr. Robinson will be signing his book Jet Scott, from Dark Horse Comics.

At 89 years young, Jerry Robinson is still involved with the comics community making appearances at conventions like San Diego Comic Con, and we’re honored to host such a prestigious creator at Midtown Comics!

New York, NY, May 13, 2011- Midtown Comics in New York City will present artists Ivan Reis and Joe Prado signing at Midtown Comics Grand Central on Tuesday May 17th from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.

Ivan Reis is an artist exclusive to DC and has penciled such titles as Action Comics, Green Lantern, Justice League of America, Rann-Thanagar War, The Authority, Wildcats, Teen Titans, 52, Superman, Countdown, Infinite Crisis, Green Lantern: Blackest Night and Brightest Day.

Joe Prado got his first American comics work sharing penciling duties with Ivan Reis on Action Comics for DC Comics. Since then, he’s worked on such titles as Superman, Teen Titans, Birds of Prey, Rann/Thanagar War and Brightest Day.

Both Ivan Reis and Joe Prado are set to draw the upcoming Aquaman series written by Green Lantern scribe Geoff Johns.

Zachary Quinto signs LUCID Vol. 1 HC from ARCHAIA Entertainment at Midtown Comics Downtown!

New York, NY, May 12, 2011-  Midtown Comics in New York City will present Zachary Quinto (“Heroes,” “Star Trek”) signing LUCID Vol. 1 HC from ARCHAIA Entertainment at Midtown Comics Downtown. Purchase of the LUCID Vol.1 is required to attend. Limit two signatures per customer.

LUCID will be available exclusively to Midtown Comics one week prior to its national release, for the purpose of this event.

In 2008, longtime collaborators and friends Corey Moosa, Neal Dodson and Zachary Quinto formed Before The Door Pictures, a media production company. Before The Door has an extensive development slate of projects in film, television, web and graphic novels. In 2009, Before The Door and Archaia Entertainment announced a partnership to produce a series of graphic novels. The first title, LUCID, created by actor and longtime BTD friend Michael McMillian (“True Blood”), debuted in 2010 in single-issue form and is now available in a collected-edition hardcover. Together with Moosa and Dodson, Quinto served as an executive  editor on LUCID, working with McMillian, artist Anna Wieszczyk and the Archaia staff to help make the book as accessible and entertaining as possible, offering his input and feedback where needed. Quinto was also instrumental in helping LUCID gain recognition within and outside the comic book industry, using his influence and popularity to tout the book at Comic-Con International in San Diego and in interviews with various media outlets, including MTV, G4 and Comic Book Resources.

Scott Snyder is the creator of the hit Vertigo series American Vampire and is also currently writing Detective Comics for DC Comics.

Kyle Higgins is a writer/director who has worked primarily for Marvel and DC Comics writing for books such as Captain America and Batman.

Trevor McCarthy is an artist whose work has included a number of DC and Marvel comic books. He is best known for his run on Nightwing.
