Marvel NOW! abounds with big, bold, beautiful beginnings:
With no country and no allies, what’s left for the Sentinel of Liberty to protect? “The Saga of Dimension Z” begins in Captain America #1 by Rick Remender and John Romita Jr. The Hulk is an indestructible force more weapon than man, and Bruce Banner is the smartest man alive. Combined, they are the strongest, smartest weapon on the planet, and now an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.! Indestructible Hulk #1 is by Mark (Daredevil) Waid, Leinil Francis Yu, and Chung Yu. Hulk and Cap get lots of great variant covers, including babies by Skottie Young! Say a sad goodbye as Avengers #34 marks its final issue, by Brian Michael Bendis, Brandon Peterson, and friends.
J. Scott Campbell–Midtown exclusive covers:
All New X-Men #1 is unleashed TODAY, including the fabulous Midtown Comics exclusive cover by J. Scott Campbell! Just like the soup, we just can’t get enough Campbell, so we’ve got two more covers cooking, served up with a hint of arachnid! Mr. Campbell is busy at the drawing table illustrating a Midtown exclusive connecting cover set for Amazing Spider-Man #700 and Superior Spider-Man #1, both available for pre-order. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, and we will keep you updated on the progress of these covers. As you already know, with Campbell’s art, it’s going to be mmm…mmm…AWESOME!
Speaking of Spidey, y’know how Dan Slott has been dropping ominous hints about the current ASM storyline, and how we’ll all hate him when it’s done? Your guess is as good as ours, but it looks like the end of Spider-Man’s world begins when Doc Ock discovers who Peter Parker really is, in Amazing Spider-Man #698, by Dan Slott, Richard Elson, and Paolo Rivera. Hold onto your webs–we’re heading for the climactic end of an era in ASM #700.

This Thursday, writer Jim Krueger (Earth X, Justice, Avengers/Invaders with Alex Ross) and artist Zach Brunner will be signing their new book, The High Cost of Happily Ever After at Midtown Comics Downtown!
