Wow! We had two incredible events at Midtown last week! Legendary actor George Takei beamed into our Times Square store on Wednesday to sign copies of Kevin Keller #6 from Archie Comics. Take a look at some great photos of the event here! We also had the pleasure of hosting superstar artist Todd McFarlane at our Downtown store, and we’ll have SIGNED copies of The Art of Todd McFarlane: The Devil’s in the Details available for cover price on our site and in-store on December 19th! Be sure to take a peek at our gallery of photos from the event too!

DOTF, and the Batwoman/Wonder Woman team-up continues:
There’s a lot happening next week…where do we start?!? There are two Death of the Family tie-ins: The Joker strikes Haly’s Circus — and Nightwing can’t stop a devastating murder in Nightwing #15, by Kyle Higgins, Eddy Barrows, and Eber Ferreira. Red Hood and Red Robin team up against the Joker in Red Hood and the Outlaws #15 by Scott Lobdell, Timothy Green, Brett Booth, and Norm Rapmund. All hell breaks loose in Batwoman #15, by J. H. Williams and Haden Blackman, as the Batwoman/Wonder Woman team-up continues!

JSA Liberty Files the Whistling Skull #1:
DC Comics launches a new WWII-era action series from acclaimed creators B. Clay Moore (Hawaiian Dick) and Tony Harris (Ex Machina, Starman) in JSA Liberty Files the Whistling Skull #1. In 1940s Europe, the Nazi war machine is on the move…but crimes are still committed in even the smallest hamlets. Can one heroic duo solve the most bizarre mystery of all? From the world of the JSA: The Liberty Files, witness the birth of a new hero for the ages!

Perfect gift ideas for Spidey fans:
The Gil Kane Amazing Spider-Man Artist Edition hardcover contains eight incredible Spider-Man stories, including some of the very best comics the wall crawler has ever appeared in: the infamous non-Comics-Code-approved LSD drug issues, the “six-arm” Spider-Man storyline that also introduced Morbius for the very first time, and the classic of classics — the night Gwen Stacy died! Reproduced from the original art and presented in full-sized glory! You’ll love the gallery section with beautiful Gil Kane covers and exceptional splash pages! Spider-Man Trouble on Horizon TP by Dan Slott, Christopher Yost, Humberto Ramos, and Mike Del Mundo. This volume collects ASM #678-681 and 679.1, and is great for lapsed readers to get up to speed on Spidey’s current perilous predicament, culminating in ASM #700 — the final issue!

My Little Pony — The phenomenon:
When did My Little Pony become the juggernaut that it is today, with one of the best selling comic book titles for the month, and an exclusive Midtown variant cover for each of the first three issues? Let Midtown Bloggerino Raph explain how MLP galloped its way into the hearts of fans everywhere, picking up a herd of new ones along the way!

Three sagas continue:
Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples’ Saga continues with Saga #8! Former soldier and new mom Alana has already survived lethal assassins, rampaging armies, and alien monstrosities, but now she faces her greatest challenge yet: the in-laws. In Robert Kirkman’s Thief of Thieves #11, the lines are drawn between the cartel and Augustus’ group in the race to save Emma. The only problem is that things could get a little grisly before either party is ready to strike. The second issue of the new Dynamite hit book, Masks is here! In Masks #2, powerful criminals and crooked politicians have taken over New York and instituted a fascist police state. Only vigilantes like the Shadow, Green Hornet, and the Spider have any hope of standing against them, but instead of operating outside the law as they have always done, these masked heroes must now oppose the law in their fight for justice!
