Welcome back to the end of an era for Spidey, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!
If you read only one comic next week, Amazing Spider-Man #700 is the one! Christmas is next week, and it will be a relatively “light” week in comics, with the exception of a few killer titles. Read on friends, and weep, rejoice, or what have you.

The amazing last issue:
Much has been read, and much has been said about Amazing Spider-Man #700, the final issue of this long running, hallowed, beloved, iconic Marvel title, that may cause writer Dan Slott to go into hiding, along with artist Humberto Ramos, and backup story artist Stephanie Buscema! Check out nine great covers to this milestone issue, including one by Steve Ditko! We’d like to call attention to our very own, special, Amazing Spider-Man #700 Midtown exclusive cover by J. Scott Campbell, who also provided the connecting cover to our very own Superior Spider-Man #1 Midtown exclusive cover, coming next month! Superior will replace Amazing for evermore (or until Marvel decides to go back to Amazing!). If you’re not up to speed with Spidey lately, you can backtrack to the big reveal with 1st printings of ASM #698, ASM #699, and ASM #699.1 available online and at all locations, for cover price!
Spider-Men #5 limited edition cover from Ireland!
Midtown proudly presents this limited edition variant cover of Spider-Men #5, with a gorgeous Tommy Lee Edwards (Marvel 1985) cover. This variant cover was originally available at the Dublin International Comic Expo this past September, and is getting upwards of $50 on eBay, but we’ve managed to snag some copies, and you need only a measly $14.99 to make this book yours today!

DC Comics: Throne of Atlantis begins!
Holy paucity of comics, Batman! DC Comics will release just a few books next week, too! Chief among them are three key titles (well, they’re basically the only three titles), two of which see the start of a terrible war between the sea and the surface world! Hopefully the League can pull it together to battle the forces of Atlantis in Justice League #15, part one of “Throne of Atlantis,” by Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis, and Joe Prado. Don’t miss the backup feature, in which Shazam comes face-to-face with Black Adam! Look no further than Aquaman #15 for part 2 of “Throne of Atlantis”, also by Geoff Johns, with art by Ardian Syaf, Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira.
Geoff Johns and David Finch present Justice League of America #1, which pays tribute to the USA with 53 flag covers, including Puerto Rico and Washington, DC. Pre-order now: save 35% off individual covers, and 53% off the entire shrink-wrapped pack set for a final cost of only $97.49 from your friends at Midtown Comics!
Deathmatch #1 from BOOM! Entertainment: only $1 buck!
A powerful and mysterious supervillain has imprisoned the world’s greatest superheroes, forcing them to fight to the death until there is but one victor. It’s kill or be killed as we settle the score on all those hypothetical superhero match-ups in the ultimate Deathmatch. Deathmatch #1 is written by legendary scribe Paul Jenkins (Sentry, Inhumans) and drawn by comics superstar Carlos Magno (Planet of the Apes, Transformers). Deathmatch is a dark, psychological deconstruction of the superhero genre that can’t be missed. BOOM-SHAK-A-LAKA!
Signed copies of Archer & Armstrong #1, 1st Printing, by Fred Van Lente!
As Valiant continues to gain both critical and commercial success, we present Archer & Armstrong #1, signed by writer Fred Van Lente, who was nice enough to stop by and sign some copies! IGN had this to say about the series: “Funny, fast and gorgeous. Not buying this book would be the stupidest thing you could do. – IGN”.
If you’re not onboard with this series yet, this signed 1st printing is your best jump-on point! Valiant is back!
