WTF: Welcome To Fun with this week’s comics!

Death of the Family concludes!
We’ve all invested a lot of time and angst in following this thrill-ride of a tale, and it’s time for the smoke to clear, and for burning questions to be answered! Who lives? Who dies? Who laughs last? Find out when the long-awaited, stunning conclusion to Death of the Family arrives in Batman #17, by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo! Then, Barbara Gordon must deal with the fallout from DOTF in Batgirl #17, the issue that will forever change her status quo in The New 52! Just what does James Gordon Jr. have planned for his sister, Batgirl, anyway?

DOTF may have siphoned most of the oxygen from the room, but save some for Katana #1, by Ann Nocenti and Alex Sanchez, cover by David Finch. Ripped from the pages of Justice League of America and Birds of Prey, Katana is a former assassin on a noble quest to restore the Outsiders to their former glory. Sounds like a pretty solid goal. There’s more from DC Comics next week…MUCH more!

What the heck is going on with DC Comics in April?

DC is promising a “WTF” moment in their April New 52 issues so shocking, that each title will have a “WTF Certified” logo emblazoned across each cover! Plus: each cover will be a two-part gatefold cover, with a hidden image revealing the key “WTF” moment! What could be so shocking? All we have so far is a few choice morsels of info: Booster Gold reappears while an entire team disappears — one team is trapped in a bottle while another is changed completely — some heroes change their colors and others change allegiances — a close encounter of The Dark Knight kind — one hero quits, and another hero dies!

Batman Night of the Owls hardcover:
Scott Snyder’s masterpiece is collected here in Batman Night of the Owls hardcover, with art by Greg Capullo! Evil spreads across Gotham City as Batman’s allies find themselves in a battle coming from all sides in this sprawling tale of corruption and violence. Collects Batman: The Dark Knight #9, Batwing #9, Batman and Robin #9, Red Hood and the Outlaws #9, Birds of Prey #9, Batgirl #9, Nightwing #8-9 and All-Star Western #9.

The return of Uncanny X-Men and Secret Avengers:
The true flagship book of the X-Men returns, in Uncanny X-Men #1, by Brian Michael Bendis and Chris Bachalo! In the wake of the Phoenix, the world has changed and is torn on exactly what the X-Men are — visionary revolutionaries or dangerous terrorists? Whatever the truth, Cyclops, Emma Frost, Magneto, and Magik are out in the world gathering up new mutants and redefining the name Uncanny X-Men! Check out some red-hot variant covers, including a “baby” cover by Skottie Young! Next week also heralds another return, in Secret Avengers #1, as the new Nick Fury leads a covert Avengers strike team including but not limited to Hawkeye, Black Widow, The Hulk, The Winter Soldier, Maria Hill, and Phil Coulson. SA#1 is by Nick Spencer, Luke Ross, and Tom Coker.

A new chapter of the Eisner Award-winning Powers by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming sends Deena Pilgrim into the big leagues! Powers Bureau #1 is a bold game-changer for the iconic crime superhero comic that started it all and offers an amazing jumping-on point for new readers!
