Batman v Superman

The wait to see director Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman is almost over, and now Warner Bros. and DC are asking us fans one big question: Who will win? Will Batman’s brilliant mind and technology make Superman learn what it means to be a man? Or will Superman’s sheer might stop the Dark Knight from humbling him? Or maybe Wonder Woman will knock some sense into both of them?! We won’t find out until the blockbuster DC movie opens on March 25th, but for now, we want to have some fun picking a side! This time, we’re going to support Big Blue! Kal-El/Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman, totally has what it takes to take the Dark Knight down a peg, and we have four quick and simple reasons why. Don’t worry, we’ll eventually share a counter-point article that roots for Batman, too!

Batman v Superman Captain America Civil War

By Gregg Katzman

Welcome to the very first edition of the Midtown Comics Clash! For our first question, we wanted to know which big 2016 comic book movie fans are more excited to see: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or Captain America: Civil War?  While the two movies do have some obvious parallels (e.g. heroes fighting over ideologies; introduction of new heroes), these two movies look like they’ll also be very, very different. The Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe are at totally different stages, and both are setting out to accomplish completely different things with these blockbuster movies. Obviously, Marvel Studios and Warner Bros./DC are going for very different tones with these two films and there’s sure to be plenty of other differences, but if you had to pick one of them, which one would it be? Before revealing the poll’s current status, we thought it would be fun to ask this question to the staff in our Times Square store. Spoiler alert: one movie receives way more love.

Batman Day Comic

If you haven’t jumped into Batman’s New 52 run yet, this is the perfect time to give it a shot, and it won’t even cost you a penny! Doesn’t get much better than that, does it? Writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo’s Batman series has consistently topped the charts and it has received month after month of overwhelmingly positive reviews. From the thrilling opening arc which introduced the Court of Owls, to the twisted stories with Joker, this is a series you need to check out. For those who have already read BATMAN #35, how could you possibly resist the BATMAN & ROBIN ETERNAL preview? Having Tony S. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Snyder, Ms. Nelson, Mr. Goyer and Mr. Meyer,

Hello, I am writing to you in response to your attempts at making a Superman/Batman movie. I am a longtime fan and enthusiast of these two characters, dating back to early childhood. My earliest memories involve seeing Adam West and George Reeves on television as Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent, respectively, as well as their alter egos, thanks to the magic of television syndication. I am the floor manager of the Times Square location of the largest comics retail entity in the world, Midtown Comics, and that’s in no small part thanks to the actors that have portrayed Superman and Batman. I have taken great interest in your project, but have some reservations. By no means do I want you to discontinue your project, but I would like to bring up some points for you to consider.
