At the dawn of the Marvel Age, the company introduced new characters who had to deal with real world problems in a universe that was a fictional parallel of our own. In the mid 1960’s, as the Civil Rights movement was gaining steam, Marvel began introducing characters who would redefine an industry dominated by the idea that heroes had a tendency to come in only one color.
