Where do we even begin? Like always, we had a blast at this year’s New York Comic Con 2014! Our Midtown Comics booth #2036 was constantly packed all weekend long with comic book fans of all ages—some new faces and some familiar faces as well! We also had the chance to interview some awesome cosplayers, some old friends of Midtown, and some Zombie crawlers! Read on for exclusive coverage of this year’s NYCC 2014!

This was our biggest year yet at NYCC, and we started off Thursday with a bang! With the help of our friends at Madame Tussauds, we unveiled our brand new Hawkeye wax figure, based on the likeness of Jeremy Renner from Avengers. Press lined up early for the unveiling, which took place at 12:30pm on Thursday afternoon. Soon after, we had fans of all ages lining up for photo ops with this hyper-realistic wax figure! Check out some of the best pictures below:

We also had a number of exclusive variants available for sale, including our Death of Wolverine Connecting Variants, Thor #1, Scott Snyder‘s Wytches #1, Avengers & X-Men: Axis #1, and more! We also had some rare back issues for sale, including The Incredible Hulk #181, Guardians of the Galaxy #18, The Avengers #1, and more! You can find our full list of New York Comic Con exclusive items here!

But what would a comic book convention be without cosplayers? On Friday afternoon, Midtown’s favorite star-of-the-screen Sam got the chance to interview some of our favorite cosplayers at this year’s Con, and boy were there a lot! Check out our exclusive interviews with Xena, Ms. Marvel, Batgirl, Michelangelo, and more!

While the cosplay attendance reached an all new high at this year’s convention, we can’t forget about the writers and artists who made these costumes possible! Without them, we wouldn’t have any of these famous characters! Sam also was able to get exclusive interviews in Artist Alley with a number of creators and artists, including Charles Soule, J. Scott Campbell, Art Baltazar & Franco, and more! Check it out below:

By the time Saturday rolled around, we were ready to launch our first ever Midtown Comics Zombie Crawl in honor of our new “I’m a Midtown Zombie” T-Shirts designed by Chris Bolson. We were able to give away these shirts to 20 lucky fans on Saturday, and participate in a Zombie Crawl around the entire Javits Center! Sam applied zombie makeup and we handed out masks to our crawlers before we set foot for the crawl. We were able to scare cosplayers, comic book fans, and more! The best looking zombie even won a $25 gift card to Midtown Comics, with 2nd and 3rd place winning free Walking Dead books! You can find video footage of the crawl below:

Sunday came too soon, and before we knew it, it was time to pack up our booth and say goodbye to our fans. Along the way we ran giveaways for signed books, special sales on our graphic novels, and exclusive interviews for our Midtown Comics podcast, which you can find here! Check out some of our pictures below, and make sure to visit us next year at New York Comic Con 2015!
