By Gregg Katzman

Welcome to the very first edition of the Midtown Comics Clash! For our first question, we wanted to know which big 2016 comic book movie fans are more excited to see: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice or Captain America: Civil War?  While the two movies do have some obvious parallels (e.g. heroes fighting over ideologies; introduction of new heroes), these two movies look like they’ll also be very, very different. The Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe are at totally different stages, and both are setting out to accomplish completely different things with these blockbuster movies. Obviously, Marvel Studios and Warner Bros./DC are going for very different tones with these two films and there’s sure to be plenty of other differences, but if you had to pick one of them, which one would it be? You’ve seen him pop his claws and fall for Jean Grey, but there’s plenty of fun, behind-the-scenes facts about Jackman’s Wolverine! So, to celebrate his birthday, we’ll share five of them! If your favorite Jackman/Wolverine fact isn’t below, share it in the comments!

X-Men Iceman

To celebrate Shawn Ashmore’s birthday, a.k.a. Robert “Bobby” Drake/Iceman, we here at Midtown Comics are reflecting on the X-Men movies and highlighting some of the coolest (sorry about the Iceman pun) moments! From 2000’s X-Men to last year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, the cinematic mutant universe has more than a few unforgettable and awesome moments. We could go on about terrific scenes from the various movies, but we’ve narrowed our list down to 10. If your top moment isn’t below, share it in the comments!

By Jess Goodwin

As far as superheroes go, the Avengers have always been fairly vanilla — the apple pie of the Marvel universe, if you will — which is why it’s a bit jarring to finally see them fighting against (and eventually alongside) “enhanced” beings like Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It was similarly odd to see them interacting with Vision, especially considering how otherworldly he looks.
