Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, and Laura Kinney/X-23, a.k.a. Wolverine, may both have accelerated healing factors and enjoy using pointy weapons in a fight, but they’re drastically different people. The Merc with a Mouth loves to babble and use his impressive agility to throw off his opponents, but X-23 tends to apply a very no-nonsense approach – and now it’s done in a non-lethal way. Will Wade annoy the new Wolverine and take her down, or will X-23 defeat the motormouth merc?  With Civil War II currently tearing apart the Marvel Universe, we thought it would be fun to imagine these two at odds in the big event! Editorial: The Defenders Should Be Based on Daredevil: Born Again

Marvel Netflix and Daredevil: Born Again SPOILERS are ahead! Obviously, the following article is 100% speculation.

DEFENDERS

Article by Gregg Katzman

I remember the very first time I saw Marvel’s The AvengersWatching Earth’s Mightiest Heroes unite to take on an alien invasion brought me a ridiculous amount of joy. Immediately, I felt like a five year-old kid watching cartoons – it was that level of fun. Now, Marvel and Netflix are hoping to capture that kind of magic on the small screen with Marvel’s The Defenders.

Daredevil. Jessica Jones. Iron Fist. Luke Cage. (And maaaaaaaaybe a cameo from the Punisher?) It won’t be very long until we see these heroes interact and fight a common threat. Will I get goosebumps all over again when I see these characters join forces? Considering how excellent Marvel and Netflix’s shows have been, the answer will very likely be “yes”. But what will make them unite? What could make the Man Without Fear need some help in his ongoing struggle to clean up Hell’s Kitchen? The Kingpin forming an alliance with The Hand, that’s what! For a show this big (which presumably has Daredevil in a key role), I think they should draw inspiration from a big comic: Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s Daredevil: Born Again. If you haven’t read it, you really should fix that asap. (While you’re at it, here are five other reading suggestions.)
